Bang Won Lee is
the President and
CEO of ATLab. He
was born in 1957
in Korea. He received
his Bachelor of
Electrical Engineering
at Seoul National
University in Korea
in 1979, Master
of Electrical Engineering
at KAIST in Korea
and Ph.D. of Electrical
Engineering at University
of Southern California
in USA. In 1979,
after received Bachelor¡¯s
degree, he joined
Samsung Electronics
Co..
Bang Won Lee promoted
to Executive Director
of System LSI in
1995 was in charge
of Consumer Media
LSI business such
as display, optical
storage and analog
consumer product.
Especially he, as
a business managing
director, achieved
the world largest
market share in
CD player chipset,
monitor chipset
and video CD chipset
in 1999.
While working with
Samsung he was also
on the board of
a venture company
in Silicon Valley
from 1991 to 1994,
and he contributed
to establish Samsung
Los Angeles Design
Center in 1991 and
to make collaboration
with STMicroelectronics
in 1995. With his
prior experiences
in Venture Company
and international
collaboration, Dr.
Lee founded ATLab,
a new style of fabless
company which provides
system makers with
shared R&D services
in the mixed-signal
system-on-chip area
in 2000.
He is also contributing
academic activities,
too. In his Academic
achievement, Dr.
Lee became an IEEE
senior member in
1991, contributed
as an Associate
Editor in Transaction
on Circuits and
Systems II from
1995 to 1997 and
Technical Committee
in Custom Integrated
Circuit Conference
from 1996 to 1997.
And he served for
Far East Technical
Committee member
in ISSCC from 1999
to 2007. He published
more than 50 technical
papers and filed
more than 90 patents.
